Bempton and Buckton Playground Action Group

We are raising money for the planning and development of a children's playground in the parish which at the moment has nothing more than an empty playing field for over 100 children aged 0 - 14.

As you may be aware play is vital for the physical, mental and social development of children enabling them to increase in confidence and self esteem while at the same time boosting their communication and motor skills. 

A playground facility would also help fight against childhood obesity and anti social behaviour and would provide a focal point for the community.

The Group formed in September 2005 and we are working towards raising somewhere in the region of £55,000 from local fundraising events, private donations and grants.
